Top 10 Trend Report - Spring Is Here!

We've got some amazing trends happening this season that I'm really excited about. Although Fall / Winter are my most favorite seasons, and in my opinion, the best fashion trends of the entire year, I'm sick of being pale, cold and covered up. Even though I live in LA, (and I know what your going to say about how its not that cold here because you got 12 feet of snow this year, etc etc) it really has been an unseasonably cold winter in Southern California. In fact, its been so cold here, for the first time since I've moved here I'm actually ready for some heat! This Spring / Summer is really shaping up to be an exciting season for fashion with some fantastic trends. So lets get to it...here's my top 10 favorite trends of this upcoming season.
Drum roll please...
The Boyfriend Blazer
BAFTA LA's 16th Annual Awards Season Party
The sleek and sexy Boyfriend Blazer is my favorite trend of the season. Don't know what to wear it with? It's simple. The Blazer can look great with either a cute, springtime, minidress or skinny jeans and a hot tank top. Either way, it jazzes up the outfit in a not-to-dressy style. Pair it with a fabulous set of heels and we're in business.
The Feathered Skirt

Ah, yes. The sweet sweet feathered skirt. Wear it high-waisted with a tucked in tank or blouse. This skirt is great for parties and events. You'll be noticed immediately and surely be the talk of the night.
Military Wear

No, you don't have to sign up for the army to be able to get the hot military look. Military wear is very popular this year and you can get anything from dark green army pants to awesome jackets and boots. In the picture above is the new Marc Jacobs military jacket. Pair it with a thin belt, like they did, and you'll be instantly chic.
Patterns
Patterns
Patterns! This outfit might seem a little too much, but this much pattern in a minidress or a cute jumper is to die for. You'll be noticing florals, shapes and polka-dots in all the stores. And you know what looks great with a floral minidress? The Boyfriend Blazer! Look at that, we're mixing trends now.
Futuristic Warrior
Futuristic Warrior
You knew this was coming, Futuristic everything! And it'll only get better throughout the years. This sexy new trend will become the next "it" style. And this trend will last us all the way up to Winter because the color schemes of black, dark grey, and silver. Whether it be a Futuristic top or Futuristic bottom, match it with a more simple garment so you don't overdo it.
Jumpsuits
Jumpsuits
Jumpsuits are back and are great for Spring and Summer. Dress it down with a cute pair of sandals or dress it up with hot wedges. Hurry and get one in every color because you can wear this piece to the beach during the day and to drinks at night.
Lingerie As Outerwear

Okay, this trend I was a little shocked about. I mean, I always thought the lingerie was supposed to stay in the bedroom... with the man! Guess not anymore! But look how sexy and sophisticated the outfit can really look. Stick with nighttime outings though and always wear nice slacks, a pencil skirt or a sleek blazer with it to keep from looking like you're Julia Roberts from Pretty Women.
The Multistrap Dress
The Multistrap Dress
The Multistrap dress is great for those of you fashionistas that like to keep your outfits a little more conservative and simple. This way, you can still keep your style but throw in a little edginess to your wardrobe. This dress is so fashionable you'll be getting compliments left and right.
Sporty Wear
Sporty Wear
It's time to take the Sporty look off the field and into your everyday activities! You can rock this look while you're grocery shopping, out for a coffee date, or just hanging with friends. We all like to dress comfortable, why not do it with a little spunk.

  3. Cool new blog! But maybe you can help me? I am scared about the futuristic look. I am more of a natural fashionista - I love natural fabrics and color palettes. What do we do with this futuristic trend? I agree it lends itself best to fall and winter. Must we suffer through this again? I feel like we did this in the 80's already? Can you find us anything in this trend, that someone like me might be able to get on board with? Thanks!

Obviously we all can't pull off every trend but I CAN do pops of color.
